More than 200 new buildings in Uzbekistan face the risk of being demolished
Authorities also identified approximately 400 facilities with construction violations.

The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Inspection for Control in the Sphere of Construction and Housing and Communal Services carried out inspections of buildings and structures to ensure their seismic resistance and seismic safety.
It is noted that during inspections, 396 poorly constructed objects were identified, and relevant materials were forwarded to law enforcement agencies.
Additionally, over 200 cases have been filed with the courts for demolishing illegal construction projects. More than 100 of these illegal structures have already been demolished.
The ministry stated that more than 40 criminal cases have been opened concerning serious violations in the construction process, and relevant investigative actions are currently in progress.
Earlier, the number of seismically vulnerable houses in Uzbekistan was announced. More than 70% of all buildings in the country were constructed during the Soviet era.
