In Uzbekistan, some categories of citizens will not be considered during the census

The procedure for conducting a population and agricultural census has been approved in Uzbekistan, according to a government decree.
According to the information, the census will take place from January 15 to February 28, 2026, and will last 45 days. The official start is scheduled for January 15th at 00:00. It is noted that when collecting data on personal and agricultural indicators of respondents, changes that will occur after the start of the census will not be taken into account.
Specifically, specialists will not record data on children born after January 15th and Uzbek citizens staying abroad for more than one year. In addition, foreign citizens – employees of permanent missions of foreign states, international and intergovernmental organizations, as well as government institutions of foreign states accredited in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and their family members will not be counted.
At the same time, data on citizens who died after January 15 will be recorded. It is noted that each respondent will be registered at their place of permanent or temporary residence. In this case, the place of residence is considered to be a house, apartment, or other residential or even non-residential premises where a person spends most of their night time for rest.
