In Uzbekistan, 15.6 thousand twins were born in 9 months, the National Statistics Committee’s press service reports.
According to the agency, 664.6 thousand live births were registered in Uzbekistan in January-September 2025. Of these:
- birth of one child – 649,041 cases;
- birth of two children – 15,136 cases;
- birth of three or more children – 421 cases.
It’s worth recalling that in the Samarkand region, a married couple who had been trying to conceive for 10 years had given birth to four. The father noted that he and his wife, their relatives and loved ones are very happy about such an extensive replenishment in the family.
The mother was a 23-year-old resident of the Tashkent district. For the medical institution, this was the first time the birth of quadruplets in the history of the Center, which has been operating for almost 23 years.
