From Tashkent to the new airport, you can get there in half an hour

The authorities plan to extend the metro line to the new Tashkent International Airport. This was announced by Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the live broadcast of “Uzbekistan 24”.

It is planned that the construction of the airport and the increase in the aircraft fleet from 105 to 180 aircraft will bring about $770 million annually to the country’s economy. It is noted that it will take a maximum of 25 minutes to get to the airport, and the distance will be 24 kilometers. For the convenience of passengers, the authorities plan to launch shuttles and lay a metro line on the territory.

The country’s leader also shared plans to purchase 75 new aircraft in the next five years. The authorities plan to increase the number of routes to 230 by 2030, and the number of domestic and international flights to 200,000 per year. It should be noted that by this time, the country plans to increase the number of tourists to 25 million people. For this, the authorities want to modernize transport infrastructure, as well as improve the quality of tourist services.

Earlier, it was reported that construction of a new international airport began near Tashkent. Tens of billions of dollars in revenue are expected from the air harbor.
