On January 8, due to unfavorable weather conditions, several flights were diverted to alternate airfields in Samarkand and Tashkent, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports reports.
Flights to alternate airports departed:
- Fly Khiva Airlines flight 2U7623 from Medina to Qarshi has been redirected to a backup airport in Samarkand;
- Centrum Air flight C63316 on the Jeddah – Bukhara route to the reserve airport in Samarkand;
- Uzbekistan Airways flight HY9652 on the Kazan – Fergana route to the reserve airport in Tashkent;
- Ural Airlines flight U62457 on the Moscow – Karshi route to the reserve airport in Samarkand;
- Asia Union Airlines flight 7Q2242 on the Jeddah – Fergana route to Tashkent’s alternate airport.
In addition, due to unfavorable weather conditions at Urgench Airport, the crew of Uzbekistan Airways flight HY51 on the Tashkent – Urgench route decided to proceed to the reserve airport in Nukus.
Recall that earlier in Uzbekistan, several aircraft went to backup airfields due to fog. Bad weather conditions are observed at the airports of Bukhara and Termez.
