Information has spread on social media that buses are forced to park at gas stations, resulting in fewer public transport vehicles on the roads. “Toshshahartransxizmat” commented on the incident.
More than a thousand methane-powered buses operate in Tashkent. Previously, their filling was carried out through gas stations. Due to the cold weather and the need to ensure equal natural gas supply to the population, social institutions, and strategically important facilities, the number of gas stations serving public transport was temporarily reduced to 11.
A special list has been approved for the existing stations, and a schedule for delivering buses to the gas station has been developed. However, the increase in the distance to the gas station, the increase in gas consumption during the winter period, and the decrease in pressure in the main gas pipelines led to an increase in refueling time and queues.
To stabilize the situation, maintain bus traffic on routes and maintain intervals, as well as ensure uninterrupted transport services for passengers, round-the-clock duty has been organized, — the message says.
In addition, “Toshshahartransxizmat” launched a social initiative to support bus drivers by providing them with hot meals directly at gas stations. To reduce the waiting time in the gas station queue, they prepared pilaf in large cauldrons for the employees and distributed it to everyone personally.
The event aims to increase drivers’ motivation, recognize their demanding and responsible work, and create more comfortable conditions. The company’s management and bus depot chiefs personally visited the gas station to talk with the drivers and listen to their suggestions. “Toshshahartransxizmat” will continue to work on improving the working conditions of drivers and ensuring the stability of the transportation process,” the message says.
Earlier, it was reported that the head of “Uzbekneftegaz” was dismissed amid problems with gas shortages. The organization will be headed by the former chairman of “Uzbekhydroenergo”.
