A Vocational Education Agency will be established in Uzbekistan, which will coordinate the work of technical schools and issue certificates and diplomas to graduates, according to a government decree.
According to the information, a new organization will be established under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. Azimjon Husanov will be the director of the agency. It is planned that the APO will coordinate the work of all 643 technical schools operating in the country, as well as issue state-recognized diplomas and certificates to their graduates and students of training courses operating on the basis of state standards.
The organization will also establish requirements for vocational training programs, qualification levels, study periods, and assessment criteria for graduates’ knowledge. In addition, the Agency’s responsibilities include approving admission parameters for technical schools based on labor market needs.
The tasks of the APO will be the development of dual education and the establishment of partnerships between technical schools and enterprises, as well as the introduction of interactive, digital, and innovative teaching technologies into the educational process. In addition, it will be engaged in providing technical schools, their laboratories and workshops with modern equipment, as well as developing public-private partnerships in vocational training.
At the same time, the agency will be granted the right to appoint and dismiss technical school principals and their deputies. It is noted that starting from 2026, 600 billion soums will be allocated annually from the state budget to the Vocational Education Development Fund to strengthen the material and technical base of technical schools and other tasks in the field of vocational training.
Earlier, it was reported that teachers in Uzbekistan would no longer be taught from a distance. International educational programs will be introduced in pedagogical colleges.
