Air pollution in Tashkent reached dangerous levels

The amount of finely dispersed particles in the atmosphere exceeded the MPC by two times.

By the evening of November 7, the content of fine particulate matter PM2.5 amounted to 72.54 μg/m³, exceeding the WHO recommended value by more than 14 times, according to IQAir data.

Thus, as of 18:00, the content of ozone pollutants and PM10 in the air of Tashkent did not exceed the maximum permissible values. At the same time, the concentration of hazardous particles PM2.5 exceeded the permissible limit by 2.1 times. The air quality is assessed as harmful. In the ranking of the world’s most dirty cities, the capital took 6th place.

It should be reminded that Uzbekistan was not on the list of countries meeting WHO air quality standards. The Swiss company IQAir showed a report for 2024.
