AI competitions will begin to be held in Uzbekistan
The prizes will be money, laptops, and electric cars.

In Uzbekistan, a national competition on artificial intelligence will be held annually among young people, the winners of which will be awarded cash prizes, cars, and laptops, the presidential press secretary reported.
During the meeting, the country’s leader noted that not only modern infrastructure, but also qualified personnel, the foundation of which is primarily the school, are important for the development of AI. It was emphasized that the foundation of this field is mathematics and computer science. In this regard, the authorities plan to introduce AI-related topics into the “Informatics” subject curriculum starting in 2026.
For this purpose, it is planned to develop a special textbook together with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At the same time, it is planned to train 100 teachers in artificial intelligence in 2025, and another 1,300 such specialists in 2026 at the New Uzbekistan University. They will gradually begin training computer science teachers in schools and universities.
After that, the top 100 computer science teachers, as well as potential specialists from ministries and local authorities, will be sent annually to countries with developed artificial intelligence for professional development. In addition, the authorities want to organize the “One Million Leaders in Artificial Intelligence” project, within the framework of which 100,000 young people will be trained in 2025, and another 500,000 in 2026.
It was emphasized that schoolchildren will also participate in the project. It is also planned to hold a national competition on artificial intelligence among young people annually, in which both students and teachers and educational organizations will be able to participate. 500 young people who win the competition will receive laptops, 100 teachers will receive a $1000 prize, and 2 educational institutions will receive electric vehicles.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would launch high-speed internet for remote regions. The authorities plan to exempt internet operators from a number of taxes.
