A project office is planned to be established in Uzbekistan to develop greenhouse farming in the country, and a number of benefits will be allocated to greenhouses, Norma reports.

According to the information, a new office will be created under the Cabinet of Ministers and will consist of 6 staff units, through reductions in the system of the Ministry of Agriculture. The organization is planned to become a separate legal entity and will be engaged in the development of the industry. In particular, the office will have the following tasks:

  • determination of requirements and technical conditions for the program aimed at developing greenhouse farms and increasing their efficiency, organization and coordination of its development;
  • generalization and analysis of recommendations of international organizations and financial institutions;
  • ensuring the practical implementation of relevant initiatives;
  • conducting an institutional analysis of issues related to the development of greenhouse farms and increasing their efficiency, and defining the main directions of reforms.

In its activities, it will be accountable to the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers for Investments, Exports, Trade, Infrastructure and Water Resources Management.

Earlier, it was reported that greenhouses in Tashkent and Tashkent region would be connected to centralized heating. Businesses will abandon coal and gas to improve air quality.
