Uzbekistan intends to enable digital currencies and asset tokenisation
The President issued a related instruction to the National Agency for Perspective Projects along with the Central Bank.

Uzbekistan intends to approve the use of stablecoins (digital currencies) for settlements, as well as the tokenisation of assets on the stock market. This was announced by Vyacheslav Pak, the First Deputy Director of the National Agency of prospective projects (NAPP).
According to, Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued relevant instructions to the NAPP together with the Central Bank at a meeting on September 10. He emphasised that the agency’s staff, the Central Bank, and other pertinent ministries “will make every effort to fulfil the specified instruction of the head of state.”
As a reminder, the Muslim Board’s Fatwa Centre stated that Islam forbids working with cryptocurrencies. However, attitudes towards them might change over time. Earlier, it was also reported that Uzbekistan had allowed the operation of bookmakers and the organisation of risk-based games. Only adults will be able to access the services.
