Reports have circulated on social media that teachers at a school in the Fergana region are being forced to be on duty 24/7. The regional DPSE commented on the situation.
It turned out that the incident occurred at School No. 37 in the Buvaida District. The school principal signed an order mandating teachers to be on duty around the clock from December 25 to January 6 (a 13-day period) “to maintain order and peace on the school grounds and ensure the safety and health of the school staff and teachers”.
The regional DPSE leadership has taken this incident under control in accordance with established procedures. Additional information will be provided following the investigation, the statement said.
As a reminder, Uzbekistan plans to double the salaries of teachers and educators by 2030. The authorities also plan to increase the number of graduates studying in pedagogical fields.
