A large shipment of synthetic drugs imported into Uzbekistan from Russia was stopped in the Tashkent region, the State Security Service press service reported.
The incident occurred at the “Navoi” border customs post. Law enforcement officers inspected a Lada Largus car that entered from Kazakhstan. A 25-year-old resident of Bukhara was driving. Inside the “Gazelle” car’s transmission, 5 packages containing the synthetic drug mephedrone were found in the trunk. The total weight was 2 kg 300 g.
It was revealed that the driver, who was engaged in private “Uzbekistan — Russia” transportation, was supposed to deliver the car parts to a resident of Kashkadarya region. The recipient was detained at the moment of transfer. A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under Article 246, paragraph 2 (Smuggling) and Article 273, part 5 of the Criminal Code.
As a reminder, organizers of a Telegram bot selling drugs and cryptocurrency were detained in Tashkent. The suspects made more than 95 thousand transactions worth more than $2 million.
