In the Samarkand region, law enforcement officers discovered over 37 kg of drugs hidden among marble slabs, the State Security Service press service reported.

During the operation, a foreign citizen born in 1992, as well as three Uzbek citizens — residents of the Samarkand region, born in 1981 and 1995, were detained. A foreigner brought drugs into the country’s territory, hiding them among marble slabs, and local residents were engaged in the sale of this drug.

During the operative actions, a total of 37 kg 421 g of the narcotic drug “extracted opium” was seized as material evidence. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals. The suspects have been arrested. Investigative actions are being carried out.
