In Uzbekistan, SEP employees confiscated a hundred tons of substandard products

Specialists conducted raids in 300 farmers' markets and fined more than 500 food products.

In Uzbekistan, SEP officers conducted raids in farmers’ markets and confiscated more than 130 tons of food products and ready-made dishes deemed dangerous for health, the department’s press service reports.

According to the information, during the raids, committee employees fined more than 500 sellers of meat, milk, confectionery, salad, and bakery products who traded products outside of trading tents, without special clothing and medical examination, as well as violating sanitary rules.

As a result, specialists confiscated more than 130 tons of products from 300 farmers’ markets, which were deemed dangerous for health. In addition, SES employees identified a number of problems in the sanitary infrastructure of markets, including the lack of specially equipped pavilions for selling meat, as well as milk and dairy products.

In many markets, specialists did not find veterinary-sanitary laboratories, public toilets, or special places for temporary waste collection. In some places, there was no water supply, as well as no wastewater collection and disinfection systems.

Also, a common problem identified in many places was the lack of contracts with organizations engaged in disinfection, disinsection, and deratization. It is noted that the committee regularly conducts control raids to normalize the sanitary condition of markets, prevent food poisoning, and provide residents with guaranteed safe food products.

Earlier, it was reported that a warehouse of expired beverages was closed in Tashkent. The products were destroyed, and control was established over the facility.
