In Uzbekistan, law enforcement officers, during raids aimed at protecting the environment, identified more than 300 cases of waste disposal in unauthorized places in a single day, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology reports.
According to the information, during October 15th, law enforcement officers in all regions of the country recorded 328 cases of littering in unauthorized locations. As a result, law enforcement officers imposed fines of 224.36 million soums on the violators. It is noted that such a number of violations were revealed by law enforcement officers during the cleanliness and improvement month.
During the events, a working group consisting of employees of the Ministry of Ecology, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Guard, and internal affairs bodies is constantly monitoring the situation. The department also emphasized that strict measures are being taken against those who litter in unauthorized places in accordance with the law.
In addition, the Ministry reported that landscaping work is being carried out in all settlements: courtyards, streets, ditches, educational institutions, and other facilities are being cleaned of garbage. Citizens were urged to actively participate and show responsibility towards the environment.
Earlier, it was reported that green ideas of young eco-active citizens will be financed in Uzbekistan. For this, a special fund will appear.
