In the Tashkent region, law enforcement officers fined a man who illegally kept wild birds, one of which is also listed in the Red Book, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology reports.
According to the information, during a raid, employees of the Environmental Control Inspectorate, together with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, discovered that a resident of the “Yangi Obod” mahalla of the Chinaz district had in his cage a falcon-sapsan, which is listed in the Red Book of the country, as well as a falcon belonging to the falcon family.
As a result, law enforcement officers seized the birds and transferred them to the Tashkent Zoo for maintenance. Experts determined that the man caused 620.88 million soums in damage to the animal world. Law enforcement officers prepared the necessary documents against the man, after which they transferred the case to the Prosecutor General’s Office for legal assessment.
Earlier, it was reported that hunters in Gulistan illegally shot a wild boar. Ecologists estimated the damage to nature at 6 million soums.
