In Tashkent, a pensioner who set up a casino in his house was detained

The man stated that he felt unwell and had no suspicion that his visitors were going to gamble.

In Tashkent, a pensioner who organized a gambling den in his house was detained, the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the information, the incident occurred in the Almazar district. During the special operation, law enforcement officers detained a local elderly man on suspicion of organizing a brothel. In the pensioner’s house, law enforcement officers found eight citizens who were planning to gamble for money.

The man did not admit his guilt and stated that he felt unwell that day and did not know that his visitors were going to gamble. As material evidence, law enforcement officers seized more than 30 million soums in national and foreign currency from the house. As a result, law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case against the man under Article 278 (organization and conduct of gambling and other games based on risk). Investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, it was reported that a pensioner in Surkhandarya was imprisoned for organizing a brothel. In court, the man fully admitted his guilt.
