In Syrdarya, a deputy governor was caught taking a bribe
The official offered help and patronage to the farmer during the fabricated inspections.

A deputy khokim of Khavast district was detained in the Syrdarya region on suspicion of corruption, the press service of the State Security Service reports.
The criminal colluded with a specialist from the district department of the regional department of investment, industry and trade. In the summer of 2025, they received 10 thousand dollars from the head of the farm for including the farm in the rice cultivation plan, confirming the fulfillment of the export plan, as well as for patronage during an inspection allegedly conducted by the State Security Service.
After this, the deputy governor demanded another $20,000, threatening to seize the land and initiate criminal proceedings. He was caught red-handed while receiving $10,000 through his accomplice. Law enforcement officers have initiated a criminal case under Article 165, Part 3, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code (Extortion), and the suspects have been detained.
Earlier, it was reported that a tax officer was caught taking a bribe in Fergana. The criminal promised to formalize the land for the money.
