In Navoi region, a hokim’s assistant was caught taking a bribe
The civil servant wanted to get rich by helping with the land registration, which had already been leased.
In Navoi region, Karmana district governor’s assistant for entrepreneurship development, employment, and poverty reduction was detained on suspicion of corruption, the State Security Service press service reported.
The suspect demanded 100 million soums to register 12 square meters of land along the M-37 highway in the name of another citizen. The plot was already leased in 2024.
Law enforcement officers detained the hokim’s assistant while receiving 40 million soums at one of the neighborhood meetings. A criminal case has been initiated, and investigative actions are underway.
Earlier, it was reported that a deputy governor was caught taking a bribe in Sirdarya. The official offered help and patronage to the farmer during the fabricated inspections.
