In Navoi region, a truck driver who deliberately crushed three citizens was sentenced to life imprisonment, Kun reports.

The incident occurred on March 17, 2025, in the Tamdyn district. According to the case materials, 41-year-old Salim Rustamov worked as a driver in one of the farms. He was driving a HOWO truck that carried water for livestock. In 2008, he married Gulmira Ergasheva. Initially, the family lived in Zarafshon, then moved to his wife’s house in the village.

In April 2021, the couple officially divorced. According to the decision of the Zarafshon Inter-District Court for Civil Cases dated December 20, 2024, Salim Rustamov was subject to forced eviction from his house. The enforcement proceedings were initiated by the City Department of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement.

On March 17, 2025, service personnel arrived at the scene for forced eviction. Gulmira Ergasheva, her parents, and the convict himself were present at the scene. At that moment, Salim Rustamov, while driving a truck, deliberately hit first his ex-wife, then her mother and father.

The service officer who witnessed the crime testified in court and recounted the incident. According to him, at the time of the murder, Rustamov’s ex-wife and her parents were outside, as the house gate was locked. After some time, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, medical workers, and National Guard servicemen arrived.

I called Rustamov several times, but he didn’t answer. I was about to formalize the postponement of enforcement proceedings, but at that moment, a white truck appeared from the city side. When we were about 15-20 meters away, the car stopped, the driver looked in our direction, then headed the truck towards the ex-wife, pressing her against the wall. After that, he turned the wheel towards his mother, hit her, and drove past her. Rustamov turned the car around and ran over the woman lying there again. Then he directed the truck at the father-in-law who was trying to approach his daughter and also hit him. After that, he got out of the cabin, took out a knife, and struck his ex-wife twice with it, — he said.

Then the man tried to attack the police officers, but they managed to escape. The criminal dropped the knife, got into the truck, and disappeared. Gulmira Ergasheva and her parents died from severe injuries. In July, the accused was found guilty under Article 97, Part 2, Clauses “a, c, d, j” (intentional murder of two or more persons).

He was also charged under Article 219, Part 2 (Resistance to a representative of authority or a person performing a civic duty). He was sentenced to life imprisonment in a special regime colony.

In the appeal, the convict stated that he had no conflicts with his family and was unconscious at the time of the crime, requesting a lighter sentence. However, the appellate court’s ruling of October 28, 2025, left the verdict unchanged.
