A “Komir taminot” official in Namangan region was charged with $40,000 in bribery, the State Security Service press service reported.
The deputy head of the regional “Komir taminot” branch, citing his high-ranking acquaintances, demanded $40,000 from a citizen for his appointment as the head of a coal warehouse in one of the districts of the region, as well as for increasing the number of cars with coal entering the warehouse.
On December 6, he received $25 thousand from the requested amount through a branch employee and gave the citizen a position. Later, he demanded the remaining $15,000, as well as $7,500 as a share for sending 30 wagons of coal. The culprit was caught red-handed while receiving the money.
A criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code, Part 4, Clause “a”, and Article 211 (Giving a bribe) of the Criminal Code, Part 3, Clause “a”. In addition, as a result of the measures taken, the timely delivery of coal products to the population at preferential prices has been established.
