In the Jizzakh region, a hunter shot his partner, mistaking him for a wild boar, Kun reports.

The incident occurred on October 5, 2025, when a 31-year-old resident of the Samarkand region arrived in the Mirzachul district of the Jizzakh region with three friends to hunt wild boar. The hunters took positions in various places, hiding in the reeds in the field in the Gulzor neighborhood.

While waiting, one of the hunting participants began to approach the shooter’s position through the reeds. Assuming it was a wild animal, the hunter fired one shot. The bullet hit the back of the victim’s left head. The man was taken to a medical facility, where he later died.

In court, the accused admitted his guilt, explaining that he had been engaged in hunting on a legal basis for about two years and did not realize that he was shooting at a person. He emphasized that he acted in conditions of poor visibility and had no intention of murder, and the deceased was his close friend.

The man was found guilty under Article 102, Part 1 (Causing death by negligence). The court sentenced him to 1.5 years of correctional labor with 20% of his earnings being withheld for state revenue, and also deprived him of his hunting rights for one year.

Recall that in Khorezm, a father shot his son and wounded his daughter-in-law and granddaughter with a hunting rifle. The man drank a lot and didn’t get along with his family, he was detained, and an investigation began.
