In the Tashkent region, a resident of a multi-story building illegally converted the attic of a house into a residential building, dismantling part of the ceiling, installing a staircase, and dividing the premises into rooms, the press service of the Construction and Housing and Utilities Supervision Inspection reports.

According to the information, the incident occurred in Angren. A resident of one of the apartments on the upper floor of a multi-story building carried out a number of construction works on the building’s attic. In particular, the man illegally dismantled part of the ceiling, damaging some load-bearing structures.

Also, the offender installed a staircase to the attic and divided the converted premises into rooms, in connection with which experts concluded that the premises were being prepared for housing. Law enforcement officers discovered this fact during inspections. As a result, law enforcement officers drew up an administrative report against the man under Article 159 (violation of the rules for the maintenance and use of residential premises, rules and norms for the operation of the housing stock) and imposed a fine of 50 BCV (20.6 million soums).

Earlier, it was reported that a man in the Tashkent region attempted to turn his apartment into a penthouse. The unlucky builder was handed over by his neighbors.
