In the capital of Oman, an Uzbek citizen — a one-year-old child — was found in the house of a Syrian family, left without any documents, “Dunyo” reports.

It turned out that in 2023, the mother did not provide a marriage certificate to the maternity hospital, in connection with which no documents were drawn up for the newborn. In addition, a criminal case was initiated against a woman in Oman, for which she secretly left the maternity hospital.

Under the pretext of temporary supervision, the mother left the child with a Syrian family, after which she fled to Uzbekistan. This family cared for the child for two years. Later, after peace was established in Syria, they decided to return to their homeland and handed the child over to the Embassy of Uzbekistan.

It is reported that the mother, who fled Oman to Uzbekistan in 2023, was arrested in 2024 for other crimes and is currently serving her sentence. The child was issued a birth certificate, and on December 18, accompanied by an embassy employee, he was returned to his homeland via the “Maskat — Dubai — Tashkent” route.
