A new opening date for the ground metro line has been announced

The resumption of work was postponed for more thorough preparation.

The Technopark—Kipchak overground ring metro line will resume operations on November 1st, according to the Metro’s press service.

Large-scale inspections were carried out on the overground ring metro line, during which the identified shortcomings were eliminated. In particular, the roads were leveled, worn-out sleepers were replaced, the condition of the drainage system was checked, and the gravel ballast was inspected.

It was reported that the line could resume operations around October 18th. However, in order to better complete the test processes, as well as to increase the speed of trains by two times and minimize the intervals between trains, the line is expected to open on November 1.

Currently, the trains on this section are running in test mode (without passengers). After successful testing and full confirmation of the technical parameters, the line will resume servicing passengers in normal mode, — the message says.

As a reminder, the Transport Prosecutor’s Office identified serious violations during the prevention work on the Tashkent metro line. Specialists inspected the work on the section between Technopark and Kipchak stations, located between the first and second lines of the metro.
