A former court chairman in Andijan region was convicted of fraud
The accused promised to reduce a sentence for $30,000.

In the Andijan region, a verdict was issued against the ex-chairman of the Khanabad City Criminal Court, accused of fraud and receiving a bribe, the press secretary of the Supreme Court Aziz Abidov reports.
The Criminal Cases Judicial Collegium of the Supreme Court reviewed the criminal case against Yunusjon Egamberdiyev. As a result, the 51-year-old man was found guilty under Article 25,168, Part 4, Clause “a” (Attempted fraud on an especially large scale) and Article 25,211, Part 3, Clause “a” (Attempted bribery on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code.
The judicial board sentenced the ex-chairman of the Khanabad City Court to 10.5 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold positions in judicial and law enforcement agencies, as well as other leadership positions for 2.5 years. The parties were also reminded of the right to appeal the verdict of the court of first instance in the manner prescribed by law.
It is noted that the 51-year-old ex-chairman of the court was detained by law enforcement officers during an operational event while receiving $30,000, which he demanded to reduce the prison sentence for the convict.
Earlier, it was reported that officials in Tashkent and several regions of Uzbekistan were caught taking bribes. All the perpetrators were detained while receiving the money, and criminal cases have been initiated.
