The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate explained the new rules for driving training to citizens.
According to the department, after full practical training and a positive assessment of driving skills, candidates will take theoretical and practical exams to obtain a driver’s license. In addition, a new category — A1 — is being introduced for moped and scooter drivers. It will take effect from January 1, 2026.
If a citizen already has a driver’s license of any other category (A, B, C, or D), no additional training is required to operate a moped or scooter.
Recall that in Uzbekistan, attending driving schools for theoretical knowledge will become optional. Citizens will be able to study independently and undergo only the practical part of the program at educational institutions.
