Uzbekistanis advised to refrain from traveling to Ukraine
The country's embassy commented on the situation with its citizens who ended up in slavery in the Kyiv region.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine commented on the incident involving the captivity of Uzbek citizens in the Kyiv region.
The diplomatic mission stated that the compatriots are alive and in a satisfactory condition. They were taken to one of the local hospitals in the Kyiv region for necessary medical procedures. The situation with the compatriots is fully under the control of the embassy. Currently, all necessary measures are being taken to return them to Uzbekistan.
Corresponding notes were sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to provide consular and legal assistance to the citizens of Uzbekistan. A criminal case has been initiated against citizens who kept Uzbekistani citizens in labor slavery. Investigative actions are underway.
Considering the current situation in Ukraine, which poses a threat to life and safety, citizens of Uzbekistan are advised to refrain from traveling to this country at this time, — the embassy noted.
