The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan welcomed the agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages, which was reached with the support of Donald Trump, the Ministry’s press service reports.

The diplomats noted that they highly appreciate the coordinated activities of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, which played a significant role in this important process, which creates prerequisites for the speedy cessation of violence, alleviation of the humanitarian crisis, and resumption of political dialogue.

It was noted that Uzbekistan consistently advocates for a lasting and just peace in the Middle East, based on the norms of international law and the resolutions of the UN Security Council.

We are convinced that the ceasefire should not be a temporary measure, but a step towards a long-term political settlement that guarantees security, sustainable coexistence, and the restoration of trust between the parties. The Republic of Uzbekistan reaffirms its readiness to continue to provide constructive assistance to international efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, and humanitarian relief in the Middle East region.

Earlier, it was reported that Mirziyoyev had called the Emir of Qatar and condemned Israel’s attack on Doha. The President reminded that Uzbekistan opposes any use of force in international relations and measures that could escalate the situation in the Middle East.
