Vladimir Putin approved a new concept of state migration policy.

Vladimir Putin approved the concept of the state migration policy of Russia for 2026-2030, according to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

The document indicates that:

  • Russian authorities will take measures against the formation of ethnic enclaves and the marginalization of migrants;
  • The Russian Federation will widely implement IT and biometrics for state control in the field of migration;
  • The number of children of foreigners in the Russian Federation who do not attend school should decrease;
  • Russian authorities will facilitate the relocation of foreign citizens sharing traditional values to the country;
  • authorities will restrict the stay in the Russian Federation of unemployed and uneducated family members of migrants;
  • The number of foreigners who share traditional values moving to the Russian Federation should increase;
  • The obligation to provide legal support to labor migrants arriving in the Russian Federation will be borne by the employer;
  • the result of the migration policy should be a reduction in the number of illegal migrants and crimes.

As a reminder, Uzbekistan wants to simplify the exam for migrants in Russia. The head of the Migration Agency noted that “when taking such an exam, there are many complex and unnecessary questions related to history and legislation”.
