The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip has entered into force
The Israeli government has approved a plan to release all those held hostage in the Gaza Strip.

A ceasefire agreement between Israel and the HAMAS group has entered into force, TASS reports, citing the SAHAL military press service.
According to the information, the agreement came into force at 12:00 PM, and since that time, SAHAL troops have been occupying positions along the updated deployment lines as part of the ceasefire agreement and preparations for the return of hostages. According to 12 channels of Israeli television, 72 hours have begun until the release of hostages held by radicals in the Gaza Strip.
It is noted that on the night of October 10, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office reported that the government of the Jewish state had approved “agreements on the release of all hostages — both dead and alive”. Earlier, on October 9, Donald Trump stated that representatives of Israel and the Hamas radical Palestinian movement had reached agreements on the first phase of a peace plan following talks in Egypt.
Israeli government spokesperson Shosh Bedrosyan said the regime would come into force within 24 hours after the cabinet approves these agreements, and Israeli troops would then be withdrawn from central Gaza and deployed to an agreed-upon line within the sector, while 53% of the enclave’s territory would remain under Israeli military control. After that, according to Shosh Bedrosyan, “the 72-hour window will open”, and during this time, all Israeli hostages will be returned home.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan welcomed the agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages. The country’s Foreign Ministry noted that the ceasefire should be a step towards a long-term political settlement that guarantees security and sustainable coexistence between the parties.
