The Taliban confirmed the blocking of social networks in Afghanistan, TasnimNews reports.

The Taliban government’s Ministry of Communications confirmed the blocking of social networks in Afghanistan. The department announced that access to Facebook, Instagram, and X is restricted. Users report that these networks are accessible only via VPN.

However, it is reported that this restriction does not yet apply to home internet. It is unknown whether the home internet will also be filtered in the future.

As a reminder, women’s books began to be banned in Afghanistan. Books by Iranian authors or those published in Iran were also banned.
