Tajikistan wants to involve Russia in the protection of its borders with Afghanistan

Tajikistan is discussing the possibility of involving Russian military personnel in joint border patrol with Afghanistan after a series of shootings, Reuters reports.

According to him, negotiations have already been held with the Russian side regarding the possible participation of the 201st Russian military base in joint border patrol. The option of helicopter patrolling with the involvement of the 201st base aviation grouping is being considered.

Recall that the draft law on the point of intersection of the borders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan was sent to the Senate. The document determines the location of the junction and border crossing.
