South Korea will assist Uzbekistan in training medical professionals to meet international standards

The parties agreed to deliver free annual training for 20 specialists from Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan and South Korea agreed to collaborate in the field of robotic surgery, as well as to provide free annual training for 20 specialists from Uzbekistan according to international standards, the press service of the Ministry of Health reports.

According to the information, the country’s Ministry of Health delegation visited South Korea and familiarised themselves with the activities of local medical and educational institutions. In particular, as part of the visit, the country’s representatives visited the Seoul National University Bundang Clinic, which is equipped with modern laboratories, a telemedicine centre, 3D training rooms, and virtual simulators.

Furthermore, the delegation attended an international conference at Kenju University, where the potential for joint educational programmes, including nurse training, was discussed. Additionally, representatives of Uzbekistan met with the management of Changwon State University, the Asantek scientific group, and examined the activities of the Inje University clinic, the Faculty of Biotechnology and Nanotechnology at Yongsei University, and the SD-biosensor company, which manufactures rapid diagnostic devices.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed on collaboration in robotic surgery, oncology, digitalisation, telemedicine, and in the field of training doctors, nurses, and medical equipment engineers. Additionally, during a dialogue with the President of the Korea International Health Foundation, an agreement was reached on the free training of 20 specialists from Uzbekistan annually in accordance with international standards.

The Korean side also expressed its readiness to expand the cooperation programme in the field of healthcare for 2026-2028. It is planned that this will help strengthen collaboration in education, medicine, and the introduction of the latest technologies in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan had signed a package of cooperation agreements with Malaysia. The countries will assist each other in education, healthcare, and the development of “smart cities”.
