Russia wants to increase fines for migrant evaders of medical examinations by 12 times, TASS reports.
According to the information, a group of deputies led by Duma faction leaders and State Duma Vice-Speaker, Chairperson of the Duma Commission on Migration Policy Issues Irina Yarova submitted three draft laws to the parliamentary chamber to combat illegal migration and protect the health of Russian citizens.
Deputies propose increasing fines for migrant evading medical examinations by more than 12 times and introducing the possibility of deporting foreigners by court order.
Irina Yarovaya noted that the legality of foreigners’ stay in Russia must be confirmed by unconditional compliance with health status requirements, in connection with which it is proposed to increase the liability for evading medical examination by more than 12 times — up to 25-50 thousand rubles with the possibility of expulsion at the discretion of the court.
And for the first time, we are introducing liability for late payment of a fine as an additional disciplinary factor and a measure guaranteeing safety, — Yarovaya noted.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia would conduct an experiment to recruit migrants for work. Foreign citizens will be selected in advance in the countries of departure, their documents will be processed before arrival, and they will be sent directly to a specific employer.
