Draft laws aimed at improving migration policy will be submitted to the Russian State Duma, Interfax reports.
Thus, it is planned to reduce the mandatory period of medical examination from 90 to 30 days for all foreigners who have arrived in the Russian Federation for a period of more than three months. It is proposed to obligate medical institutions to send information to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the formalized conclusions and to Rospotrebnadzor on the detection of an infectious disease in a migrant so that he can be promptly deported.
It is also planned to introduce administrative liability for evading medical examination of foreigners, providing for a fine with the possibility of expulsion by court order. Among the proposals is establishing increased criminal liability for forgery of official documents stating the absence of diseases that pose a danger to others.
As a reminder, Russia will stop issuing patents to migrants with debts. The draft law will be submitted to the State Duma in the spring.
