Russia does not plan to seriously rely on labor migrants in the long term, TASS reports, citing Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov.

Maxim Reshetnikov noted that if the country develops under conditions of labor shortage, it will not be possible without the power of migrants, however, he emphasized that Russia must complete the process when migration is approached according to the principle: came, worked, left.

Everything is honest: they come from other countries, earn money, receive money, and leave. We don’t need families here, nor are we obligated to teach anyone (not citizens of our country) [in schools], — said the head of the Ministry of Economic Development.

In this regard, the head of the ministry said that in conditions of labor market shortage in the long term, no one is seriously prepared to rely on migrants.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia wants to ban migrants from transferring more money abroad than their salary. This will help prevent shadow income, tax evasion, and capital outflow overseas.
