A blogger from the USA got stuck in Uzbekistan on a Lamborghini due to penalty issues

The world traveler exceeded the vehicle's lifespan.

A video circulated on social media showing US blogger Connor traveling the world in a supercar, arriving in Uzbekistan and staying at the country’s border for almost three days. The Customs Committee’s press service commented on the situation.

According to the information, the American blogger is driving a rare Lamborghini car, which he bought at an auction, selling his house and leaving his job. The man built his blog around the world, traveling in his car and sharing content with his followers. On May 2, the blogger arrived in Uzbekistan, but in September, when he tried to cross the border, he learned that his car had been fined.

The foreign citizen was unable to pay for it either by card or in cash: the bank terminal at the customs post was not working due to an unpaid SIM card, and the nearest ATM was 40 kilometers away, and since the blogger’s visa was expiring, he couldn’t leave the customs zone either. The blogger shared his worries on social media, jokingly threatening that if he wasn’t released, he would “have to involve Uncle Trump in the case.

The Customs Committee’s press service reported that the violation indeed occurred. According to the department, according to the legislation, foreign citizens’ funds may remain in the country for no more than 90 calendar days, and for each day of delay, a fine of 1 BRV is charged.

Thus, having arrived in the country on May 2, to avoid receiving a fine, the blogger was supposed to leave the country no later than August 2, and due to the delay, he ended up staying in Uzbekistan for almost two months longer than the established period. As a result, his fine amounted to 23 million 72 thousand soums. Also, the customs committee reported that the blogger was unable to pay the fine due to the fact that bank operations such as currency exchange and cash withdrawal were not operating on weekends.

However, on September 29, with the help of his compatriots, whom the man asked for help, the blogger managed to pay the fine and successfully leave the country with his car. Nevertheless, the blogger assured that, despite the stress, Uzbekistan left him the warmest memories.

I was in a panic, but then I realized that everything was settled. It was a lesson — always read the rules carefully, even if you’re driving a dream on wheels. I am grateful to the Uzbek people for the support and kindness I have seen every day,” Connor said on his blog.

Earlier, it was reported that tourists could come to Khorezm for a year without restrictions. A “Uzbekistan — My Second Home” system will be introduced for travelers.
