Who will receive government support for gas payments?

The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reminded those who receive material assistance to pay for natural gas.

According to the presidential decree, material assistance for payment for natural gas is provided to families included in the registers:

• receiving child benefits and material assistance through the “Unified Register of Social Protection” information system;
• included in the register of poor families.

Also, assistance is provided to families not included in the registers, but meeting the criteria of low-income families according to their material status, whose income per capita does not exceed 1.5 times the minimum consumer spending.

It is noted that natural gas consumers are compensated for the difference in tariffs between the price within the base norm and the price exceeding the base norm for the volume consumed above the base norm:

• up to 250 cubic meters per month — during the heating season;
• up to 150 cubic meters per month — in other periods.

In addition, for the 2025/2026 heating season, one-time material assistance in the amount of 1 million soums is allocated to the following families:

• families included in the registers;
• families not included in the registers, but recognized as needing assistance based on the conclusion of the “Mahalla seven”.

Earlier, it was reported that a headquarters for round-the-clock monitoring of lighting, gas, and heating in winter had appeared in Tashkent. The working group will also address citizens’ complaints.
