Uzhydromet explained the difference between private and official air quality sensors

The department also organized an open day, where citizens can ask all their questions.

Uzhydromet specialists explained the reason for the discrepancy between the data from official and private air quality sensors and organized an open day.

According to the department, the readings of private sensors installed by many companies and citizens may be unreliable. Many private sensors were installed in violation of standards and technical instructions.

Incorrectly installed devices made it difficult to form an objective picture of the state of atmospheric air and affected the quality of information provided to the population. The owners of the sensors were given recommendations on the correct installation and use of the equipment, — the message says.

For those planning to install their own sensors or clarify the rules for placing equipment, the department organized an “Open Doors Day” on December 9 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Uzhydromet. Agency employees will answer all citizens’ questions.

Air Tashkent’s official system uses data from only Uzhydromet’s certified stations, so its indicators may differ from platforms that also include private points, such as international IQAir, — the statement said.
