Information appeared on social media about the closure of some posts on the border with Uzbekistan. The Customs Committee’s press service commented on the situation.

The department denied the information about the closure of the posts. The committee’s press secretary, Husan Tangriyev, citing the presidential decree, noted that 6 posts have been transferred to border troop servicemen for part of their authority as an experiment until the end of 2026. In particular, military personnel are now inspecting vehicles.

It is noted that such an experiment is conducted at the following posts:

  • Bobotog (Surkhandarya region);
  • Uchturgon (Syrdarya region);
  • Pop (Namangan region);
  • Rovot (Fergana region);
  • Rishton (Fergana region);
  • Bekobod-auto (Tashkent region).

Also, the specialist emphasized that the transfer of procedures is necessary to reduce duplicating functions, and noted that all 6 posts continue to work. It is planned that border guards will call customs officers upon detection of goods falling under customs control, and customs officers will participate in the inspection of vehicles according to the risk analysis system’s instructions.

Further, border guards during passport control will inform customs officers about violations or high risks of violation of customs legislation, as well as exchange information about vehicles under customs control. In addition, the document provides for the closure of six remote electronic declaration posts: in Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Samarkand, and Bukhara regions – their personnel will work in a single Customs Clearance Center or at other customs posts.

Earlier, it was reported that a checkpoint with “green” and “red” corridors for cars will appear in Uzbekistan. The new system will allow more than 1,500 vehicles and more than 50,000 passengers to pass through the post daily annually.
