In 2025, sales of new cars in Uzbekistan increased by 5.2%, reaching nearly 370,000 units, according to the CERR’s report.

According to the information, the number of newly registered and re-registered traffic police offices exceeded 368 thousand. At the same time, 315 thousand or 85.5% of them were domestically produced cars, another 53.3 thousand were imported. It is noted that sales grew most noticeably in the Syrdarya region, amounting to 45%.

Following were Tashkent region — 36% and Namangan — 25%. The decrease was recorded in Tashkent, Navoi, and Khorezm regions. In addition, car sales in December 2025 increased by 71% compared to the same period in 2024. It is noted that activity in the electric vehicle segment has become one of the main drivers of the primary market.

Thus, in 2025, Uzbekistanis purchased 40.7 thousand cars with electric motors, which is 35% more than last year. At the same time, the highest demand was in Tashkent — 29 thousand units were purchased there in a year, which is slightly more than 70% of the total volume. Next are Samarkand, Tashkent, and Kashkadarya regions.

Earlier, it was reported that officials would be stripped of their unnecessary official vehicles. Cars exceeding the standards will be sold through an auction.
