Uzbekistanis alert about a new phone scam scheme
The fraudsters ring pensioners on behalf of the ATS and demand passport details to replace the numbers.

A new fraud scheme has been recorded in Uzbekistan. Pensioners are called to landline phones, introduced as ATS employees, and demanded to provide their passport details and prepare documents under the pretext of mass number changes.
Then the scammers ask them to leave the house with documents to take a picture of the victim’s face. The obtained data can be used for identification in bank applications and for processing loans.
According to the “Potrebitel.uz” community, many elderly people have already received such calls. The ATS itself confirmed that no room changes are being carried out.
Uzbekistanis were urged to warn their elderly relatives about the risks and not to share personal data with unknown subscribers.
Earlier, it was reported that a fraudulent advertisement on behalf of well-known brands appeared on social networks about the promotion, in which it is necessary to take a survey to get a refrigerator for 30 thousand soums.
