Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia discussed the possibility of connecting the country to the international communication line passing from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan through the Caspian Sea, DataVolt Executive Director Rajit Nanda said during a live broadcast of the “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel.
A representative of the Saudi company DataVolt said that currently all internet traffic passes through Europe, in connection with which it is important to create alternative routes. In particular, it is planned that connecting to the Caspian line will be able to ensure communication stability and security, as well as “bring multibillion-dollar benefits”.
Rajit Nanda stated that this project is of great strategic and economic importance for Uzbekistan, as it will not only ensure communication security but can also bring multi-billion-dollar benefits. In this regard, the company believes that digital transformation has unlimited potential for Uzbekistan.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would launch high-speed internet for remote regions. The authorities plan to exempt internet operators from a number of taxes.
