Uzbekistan proposed to create a Global Social Justice Fund
The organization should help in the fight against poverty.

On November 4, Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the second World Summit on Social Development, which is being held in Doha, the presidential press service reports.
At the beginning of his speech, the President expressed gratitude to the organizers of the forum for the high level of preparation and emphasized that holding the summit, which is an important platform for global social development, in the city of Doha has great symbolic meaning.
The Head of State noted that in recent years, Qatar has become a global center of social inclusion and dynamic progress, and sincerely congratulated the people of this country on the achievements.
The president also emphasized that currently, the global community and national governments are working together to ensure social well-being and improve the living standards of the population. Uzbekistan also supports all international formats of cooperation and initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development.
It was emphasized that large-scale construction of a social state is being carried out in New Uzbekistan, in which the principle “In the name of human honor and dignity” is being affirmed, social justice is being ensured, and the needy segments of the population are being effectively protected. The country’s leader said that the poverty rate in the country has been reduced from 35% to 6.6%.
In addition, the head of state put forward a number of proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening global social justice and sustainable development. The leader emphasized the importance of bringing international cooperation in poverty alleviation to a new level and stated that the time has come to create a new financial architecture for poverty alleviation that will attract resources to the social programs of developing countries.
To this end, it was proposed to establish the Global Social Justice Fund, which will provide practical support in poverty reduction and social inequality reduction. The Head of State emphasized the importance of introducing modern mechanisms for effectively addressing employment issues.
It was noted that the rapid development of high technologies and artificial intelligence is leading to the loss of millions of jobs worldwide. In these conditions, the active interaction of the state, business, and society to support workers and strengthen the principles of social partnership is of particular importance.
The President expressed hope that the initiative to develop a “Global Initiative for Social Responsibility and Decent Work” would be supported. At the same time, it was emphasized that expanding educational opportunities for all is one of the most effective ways to solve social problems.
According to experts, the annual economic damage from illiteracy amounts to $1.4 trillion, which makes it difficult for young people to find their place in society and in the labor market, and also exacerbates social inequality. The Head of State assured that Uzbekistan fully supports the decisions made at the first meeting of the Global Alliance on Combating Hunger and Poverty held the day before.
The Head of Uzbekistan proposed to hold one of the upcoming summits of the Alliance in Uzbekistan, defining education issues as the main topic of the agenda. Special attention was paid to the need for systematic protection of labor migrants and their family members.
Uzbekistan is ready, together with the International Labour Organization and the International Organization for Migration, to hold an International Forum on the Social and Legal Protection of Migrants and Their Families in Tashkent, as well as to adopt a Global Program in this area, — the head of state noted.
In addition, the president noted that the impact of climate change on social life is becoming increasingly felt. Extreme weather phenomena, desertification, and loss of biodiversity primarily negatively affect vulnerable segments of the population — farmers, seasonal workers, and residents of ecologically disadvantaged regions. He emphasized the need to take comprehensive measures to integrate climate change with employment programs.
The Head of State announced that Uzbekistan intends to launch a new model of socio-economic development of the Aral Sea region, declared by the UN as the territory of environmental innovations and technologies, and expressed readiness to share this experience with the world community. The country’s leader expressed confidence that the decisions made at the summit will instill confidence and hope in millions of people around the world, and will significantly contribute to ensuring stability and prosperity.
Our main duty is to restore social harmony on the path of international development, to create a decent standard of living for every person, — said the head of state.
In conclusion, the President confirmed his full support for the Doha Political Declaration adopted at the summit and readiness to ensure the practical implementation of all its principles.
