Uzbekistan may set new energy consumption record in winter
The authorities plan to complete preparations for the autumn-winter season by October 5th.

In 2025, the daily electricity consumption in the energy system of Uzbekistan may exceed 300 million kWh, and the maximum capacity will be more than 13 GW, said the First Deputy Hokim of Tashkent, Bakhtiyor Rahmonov, during a live broadcast of the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
The administration spokesperson said that the president criticized the unpreparedness of 661 apartment buildings in the capital for the upcoming heating season. In this regard, the city authorities intend to complete all the work, including cleaning and preventing the heating systems, by October 1.
Bakhtiyor Rakhmonov noted that in 2025, it is planned to implement a program in the energy sector, within the framework of which authorities will replace 319 km of cables and modernize 48 transformers. The first stage will be completed by November 1, and all work will be completed by the end of the year. The project is estimated at 64 billion soums.
Hududgaztaminot chairman Ma’rufxon Xodjayev reported that a reserve of liquefied gas has been created in the country and assured that 330 thousand tons of liquefied gas will be delivered to the population on time. First Deputy Minister of Energy Bakhtiyor Mamatkarimov also reported that 53 substations, over 900 km of high-voltage cables, and 19 high-voltage and low-voltage substations will be prepared for the heating season in Tashkent.
To this end, the Ministry of Energy and industry organizations have begun working around the clock. It was also noted that electricity and natural gas reserves have been created in the capital, emergency teams have been prepared. More than 40 thousand additional reserve gas cylinders have been delivered to the regions.
