Uzbekistan may have satellite internet from an American company

Cooperation aspects were discussed with the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Sherzod Shermatov.

Uzbekistan has preliminarily agreed with Amazon to launch satellite internet, according to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development.

The corporation delegation visited the country as part of the American business mission. At the meeting with the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Sherzod Shermatov, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the direction of broadband internet connection.

At the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Digital Development and Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services. The document outlines partnership plans in the field of improving digital infrastructure. Amazon plans to launch Project Kuiper satellite communication in Uzbekistan to provide high-speed internet access.

Earlier, it was reported that Starlink plans to launch satellite internet in Uzbekistan in 2026.
