Uzbekistan intends to prohibit photographing and recording videos without permission
The draft law also outlines situations in which filming and image use are permitted without restriction.

Deputies are reviewing the draft law On Amendments and Additions to the Legislation Aimed at Strengthening the Protection of Individuals’ Rights When Taking and Using Images.
According to the project, photographing a person and using their image will only be possible with their consent.
- If a person is incapacitated — consent is given by their legal representative.
- In case of death — if consent was not given during his lifetime, the right to grant it will be held by the heirs.
Special attention was paid to the protection of children:
- Until the age of 16, consent is given by parents or guardians;
- From the age of 16, children will be able to make decisions independently.
In addition, the project provides for additional measures to ensure privacy during video surveillance. Thus, when installing cameras in buildings and structures, warning signs must be placed.
The document also defines a list of cases where photography and image use can be carried out without consent.
