Uzbekistan has implemented the process for issuing medications through electronic prescriptions
Doctors will be able to monitor the movement of prescribed and sold medications.

The Government approved measures to further accelerate the processes of digitalization of the healthcare system, Norma reports.
The authorities have adopted a regulation on the procedure for prescribing prescription drugs in medical organizations based on an electronic prescription, which provides for:
- the procedure for dispensing prescription drugs to patients based on electronic prescriptions;
- registration of prescribed electronic prescriptions;
- the procedure for transferring the electronic prescription form and the data contained therein to the “Electronic Prescription” module;
- responsibility for violation of the procedure for prescribing prescription drugs in medical organizations based on electronic prescriptions.
Starting December 10, 2025, all medical organizations in Tashkent and 15 districts where the pilot project is being implemented will prescribe medications to patients electronically using the international non-patented name of the drug (if any). Prescription drugs must be registered in Uzbekistan.
Medical workers enter the patient’s data into the information system, which is automatically transferred to the “Electronic Medical Record” module. Medicines are prescribed to the patient by forming an electronic prescription in this information system.
The prescription is approved by the attending physician using electronic verification methods with automatic QR code entry. Information about medications prescribed to patients is entered into the electronic prescription directly by the doctor. Doctors are given the opportunity to track the movement of medicines prescribed to patients based on electronic prescriptions and those sold in retail.
